Ill health

If you’re too ill to continue working, the Fund offers ill-health retirement options.

In DB Core and DB CorePlus, you may qualify for a full or a partial ill-health pension.

Full ill-health pension

A full ill-health pension may be payable if Nestlé accepts medical evidence that you are unable to carry out any work as a result of serious illness or disability, and that this condition is likely to continue until your Normal Pension Date. You could receive an unreduced pension, calculated as if you retired at Normal Pension Age, based on your Pensionable Service in DB Core and DB CorePlus, an accrual rate of 1/80 in DB Core or 1/70 in DB CorePlus for service from 1 August 2017 and your uncapped Career Average Revalued Pensionable Earnings at the date you retire.

Partial ill-health pension

A partial ill-health pension may be payable if Nestlé decides that the medical evidence does not qualify you for the full ill health pension, but does accept that you will be unable to continue your normal job and that this condition is likely to continue until your Normal Pension Date. You could receive an unreduced pension based on your Pensionable Service in DB Core and DB CorePlus, an accrual rate of 1/80 in DB Core or 1/70 in DB CorePlus and your uncapped Career Average Revalued Pensionable Earnings at the date you retire.
